The D-backs’ Lou Gehrig Night, presented by Dignity Health, will raise awareness and show support for those impacted by ALS. Derrick Hall, who played a critical role in bringing together the 30 teams for Lou Gehrig Day, will receive ALS Arizona’s Iron Horse Award, recognizing his strength, dedication, and remarkable contributions to the ALS community in the spirit of Lou Gehrig. Justin Miller, a devoted husband and father of two who is currently battling ALS and receiving care at the Gregory W. Fulton ALS and Neuromuscular Disease Center, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. The team will recognize ALS Arizona, Barrow Neurological Institute and the Muscular Dystrophy Association and honor Gehrig’s legacy with a reading of his iconic “Luckiest Man” speech.
