While the team was away in Tampa, the Phillies and Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) teamed up to host 300 students from five Philadelphia schools for an interactive and educational Science of baseball event at Citizens Bank Park. The students were divided into groups and participated in activities designed to teach and reinforce academic skills. The stations included baseball-related STEM activities, including ballpark design, reaction time, throwing accuracy, injury prevention, air resistance and more. Plus, they even got to take the PhanaVision control room for a spin!
